Thanks for the comment Fred. I’ll admit I haven’t taken much from either of those films into account and I should have a look to see what I’m missing. Dylan’s movie allusions, especially from his paintings, are a whole world. I’m aware also of the borrowings from the Trail novel that have been diagramed so well by another researcher. But my scope is limited to the themes of Rough and Rowdy Ways, especially “Key West (Philosopher Pirate),” and lately, to the way Bob is playing off those themes in these Instagram posts. Particularly the ideas that align with my claim about his use of my memoir.
A lot here to like and to think about, but I think you'd find more "Scarface" connections in the original 1932 movie than in the remake.
